On September 26, the head of the republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, and the head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, signed an agreement on the Chechen-Ingush border.According to the signatories to the treaty, now there will be a fixed border between Chechnya and Ingushetia, disputes about which (disputes over the ownership of the Sunzhensky and Malgobek districts) have been fought since the nineties.
At the same time, activists from Ingushetia stated that according to the new line of demarcation, Chechnya receives about 5% of the territory of Ingushetia - which is about 17 thousand hectares of land. Residents of the capital of Ingushetia, the city of Magas, began to take to the streets in protest - meetings began to gather against the transfer of land to Chechnya. At first, just over a hundred people took to the streets, but then more and more people joined the protesters.
